Ashley and Marco pulled off one of the better surprises we’ve seen: they invited family and friends to what everyone assumed was an engagement party, and it was actually the wedding itself. Nobody in that backyard knew what was coming until Ashley stepped out in her dress and headed straight for the ceremony space, bouquet in hand — the gasps were real, and we were lucky enough to catch every one of them on camera.
The setting was an elegant backyard in San Juan Capistrano, dressed with loose, romantic florals and long tablescapes that felt more like a garden dinner party than a formal reception. Ashley and Marco come from a proud American-Italian family, and it showed on the table: every dish was homegrown or homemade, much of it by Marco’s mother, who happens to be a chef.
