The Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert is one of those rare resorts that gives a maternity session everything it needs in one place — manicured palm groves, still reflecting pools, sweeping desert views, and enough variety in texture and light that no two frames end up looking the same. For the Davis family’s session, that meant we could move from lush, tropical-feeling courtyards to wide-open desert vistas in the span of a short walk.
Maternity portraits are all about softness, and this location delivers it in spades. The resort’s water features add a gentle shimmer and reflected light that flatters skin tones, while the palm-lined walkways create dappled shade perfect for golden hour. Add in the backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains, and you get a session that feels both intimate and expansive — close enough to focus on the connection between parents and the baby on the way, with just enough of the desert in frame to remind you exactly where you are.
