Some sessions set the tone the second you walk in the door, and this one did exactly that — the Marrow family greeted our team with food and drinks before we’d even unpacked a camera bag. That same warmth carried through the whole shoot. This lawyer-and-designer couple, originally from Canada, have built a genuinely beautiful home in Palm Springs, and it showed in every corner we photographed, from thoughtfully chosen furniture to the kind of natural light that makes an at-home session feel effortless.
Their daughter turned out to be a natural in front of the camera, finding her own moments to shine rather than needing to be coaxed into them — the kind of unscripted energy that makes for the best family portraits. Shooting in a family’s actual home, surrounded by the design choices and details that reflect how they really live, tends to produce images with more personality than a studio session ever could, and this one was no exception.
For Palm Springs families who love their space as much as they love each other, an at-home portrait session is a great way to capture both at once.
