Monterray Security flew their private jet in from San Francisco for this shoot at Palm Springs International Airport, and the tarmac gave us exactly the kind of setting aviation photography needs: wide-open space, clean sightlines, and nothing to distract from the aircraft itself. The jet’s sleek fuselage against the silhouetted mountains ringing the valley made for a striking, high-contrast set of images — the kind of shot that reads as pure luxury without needing any extra styling.
Aviation photography is its own discipline. Aircraft are enormous, reflective, and constantly changing as the light moves, so timing and positioning matter more than almost any other type of shoot we do. We worked the tarmac at different angles and distances to capture both the scale of the jet and tighter, more graphic compositions of its lines against the sky.
After this shoot wrapped, the jet took off again for Rome — a nice reminder of just how much ground private aviation clients cover, and how a single stop in Palm Springs can be one small stretch of a much longer journey.
