The golf grounds at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage gave us a perfect excuse to bring out the drone. Manicured fairways stretch out against the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains here, and the elevation changes across the course create exactly the kind of layered, textured landscape that looks best from above — sweeping green against tan desert hardscape, with the mountains anchoring every frame.
We mixed aerial passes with ground-level shots to give this showcase real range: wide drone shots that capture the scale of the property and how the course threads through the resort, paired with closer, human-scale images of the greens, water features, and palm-lined paths. It’s the kind of visual set a resort needs for marketing — material that sells the experience of being there, not just the amenities list.
Rancho Mirage sits right in that stretch of the Coachella Valley where resort landscaping and untouched desert meet, and Omni Rancho Las Palmas makes the most of that contrast. Shooting here reinforced something we come back to again and again in our commercial work: golf courses are essentially engineered landscapes, and with the right light, they photograph like fine art.
