There’s a reason so many Palm Springs elopements end up at the same spot: the retro “Welcome to Palm Springs” sign is one of the most recognizable backdrops in the desert, with its palm silhouette and jagged mountain range rising up behind it. It’s kitschy in the best way — a little vintage roadside Americana, a little postcard — and it photographs like nothing else in the valley.
This couple leaned all the way into that mid-century desert mood, and the light did the rest: warm and low across the mountains, throwing long shadows and turning the sky into the kind of gradient you usually only see painted on a vintage travel poster. Elopements built around a single iconic location like this one keep things simple by design — no multi-stop itinerary, just one perfect backdrop and all the time in the world to work it from every angle.
It’s one of our favorite spots to shoot for exactly that reason. The sign gives a couple instant Palm Springs identity in every frame, and there’s something fitting about eloping in front of the same sign that’s been welcoming people to this town for decades.
