We were lucky to spend an afternoon photographing the Plessis’ for their anniversary — a session built around celebrating years of partnership rather than marking a single big event. There’s a different energy to shooting a couple who has been together a long time versus a couple just starting out; the comfort between them shows in every frame, from the easy way they lean into each other to the inside jokes you can practically feel passing between shots.
Palm Springs gave us a soft, sun-warmed backdrop for the session, the kind of desert light that flatters everyone and turns even a simple portrait into something that feels timeless. The goal wasn’t to stage a big production — it was to capture what’s genuinely there: a long-lasting friendship and a love that’s had time to settle into something steady and real.
Anniversary sessions like this one are some of our favorites precisely because there’s no wedding-day schedule to work around. Just two people, good light, and a relationship worth documenting.
