Tasha Vu is the kind of person who does not sit still — a high-end makeup artist and yoga instructor who takes on whatever she sets her mind to. She was in the Palm Springs area on vacation when she came across our work while browsing local businesses, liked what she saw enough to reach out, and asked us to shoot branding photos for her yoga studio.
We met her out in Joshua Tree National Park along with a few friends who had never set foot in the park before. Climbing up over the boulders together to find the right vantage points overlooking the valley turned into as much of an adventure as it was a shoot — the kind of shared experience that tends to loosen everyone up in front of the camera.
Joshua Tree remains one of our favorite places to shoot precisely because of how the light behaves there: it bleeds through every crevice in the rock, and the boulders themselves hold a warm glow that flatters anyone standing in front of them. Tasha put these images to work across her own branding and marketing — proof that a single photoshoot in the right location can carry a small business a long way.
