One of the perks of this job is getting to travel constantly and still come home to a space that actually feels like home. When West Elm reached out about featuring a space for a styled shoot, the location that made the most sense was the one we know best: our own Palm Springs home.
As first-time homebuyers, we wanted the space to reflect the same clean, uncomplicated style we’re drawn to on every shoot — the straight lines and mid-century character that Palm Springs does better than almost anywhere else. Spending a good chunk of the year traveling, staying in everything from small city apartments to remote mountain cabins, gave us a strong sense of what we actually wanted at home: simple, intentional, and never cluttered. West Elm’s mid-century collection fit that instinct perfectly, with brass hardware and clean lines that let each piece do double duty — a console that serves as a dining buffet in one room and a streamlined home office workspace in another.
The home leans on four consistent elements throughout: living greenery, clean whites, warm brass and chrome accents, and natural wood tones, all pulled together under generous natural light. Scattered throughout are travel prints from around the world — some from places we’ve been, some from places still on the list — a small way of keeping the wanderlust visible even at home.
